Cautiously optimistic!

So I'm 8 days post transfer now.  L, my IM, doesn't want to know the results of any home pregnancy tests and wants me to wait for the blood test next Thursday.  I know I could technically cheat and just not tell her the results, but I'm sure I'd give it away somehow.  So I wait.  Luckily this week and next week are very busy for me so it's making the time go by quickly.

And so for now all I can do is look for clues in my own body.  Over the weekend I had some quick pinching cramps... implantation cramping I hope!  During this week I've had occasional dull aching cramps.  Nothing too bad.  I'm incredibly tired and have been falling asleep and staying asleep much easier than normal.  The last two days my appetite has increased quite a bit.  I've had a mild headache all day that I can't shake.  And the funniest clue will take a little explaining...

It's not uncommon for me to cry at movies, pregnant or not.  But just a few silent tears is all I need. However, when I was pregnant there were a few times that I totally lost it.  The first, and most memorable time, was when we were watching Evan Almighty.  There's a scene where his beard keeps growing and he keeps trying to shave it off.  I was laughing so hard that I started crying.  And then I felt silly for crying so I started bawling my eyes out.  Completely bent over, uncontrollably sobbing.  But I still found it funny while I was crying.  It was very strange!  Same thing happened with both pregnancies.

Anyway, that's what happened last night.  We were watching Star Wars episode 3 and when Luke and Leia were given to their adoptive families I started crying a little.  Scott mocked me a tiny bit and then I started laughing at myself and it snowballed from there.

Of course I also have to keep in mind that I'm still taking progesterone and estrogen.  And many of these things can be considered a side effect.  Only 6.5 more days until we'll know for sure!

  1. Ohhhh How this post reminds me of Spring 2008 right about this time actually, when we were talking and hoping the girls were implanting! Makes me a little sad we aren't going through it all at the same time again. :)

I feel like you'll get that + very soon... I just keep wondering when they check for heartbeat if they will find more than one! *giggle* that would be so neat!

  2. Hmmm.... my reply from yesterday hasn't shown up? To recap what I tried to say: Lorah! Bite your tongue! We'd all like for there to be just one healthy baby.
