Everything is good!

So late Friday night I had a gush of blood.  It freaked me out but I'm so thankful that the dr had warned me it could happen.  This is pretty gross.... but it was a brown color which means it's old.  My theory was that the hematoma was draining.  There was just the one gush and then nothing else.  I let my IM know and she wanted me to let her know if there was any more.

Then Monday evening and Tuesday morning I started spotting a little.  And I mean very little!  Hardly worth mentioning, but I of course told my IM.  She said she'd feel a lot better if I got it checked out.  Our next ultrasound wasn't scheduled for another week, 7/6.

So she got me an appointment yesterday afternoon with the RE.  Everything is fine!  He wasn't concerned at all about the hematoma.  But since it was the other dr who spotted it in the first place (using an abdominal ultrasound) it's hard to say if it's really smaller or if the angle just doesn't show it the same.

Their baby is 12 weeks along now.  It was moving all around.  I'm sad my IM couldn't be there for the appt (she's out of state for a few more days) but the RE got a couple really good US pictures for her.

I'm doing really good.  I hardly feel pregnant most of the time.  I haven't started gaining any weight yet.  But it's funny to see how I change during the day.  In the morning my stomach is still flat as a board, but by the end of the day I definitely have a pouch!

A fun update

Nothing to report except fun stuff!

1) No more injections!!!  Scott gave me my last progesterone shot Friday night.  So the total count was 27 days of Lupron injections (done in the tummy with a tiny insulin needle) and 70 days of Progesterone (1.5" needle into the top part of my butt/hip)!

2) I forgot to share this funny story from a week or so ago.  Our son was visiting his grandparents and I was at work, so Scott took our daughter out to lunch.  They went to a restaurant where one of my good friends works.  It was odd for Scott and Baby Girl to show up with out everyone else.  So my friend sat down to chat.  The conversation goes like this:
      Scott - "So, Stacey's pregnant."
      J - "Really?!  Wow, that's great"
      Scott - "It's not mine."
J - with a shocked and dumbfounded look on his face... "Oh no.  That's not good"
      Scott - "It's okay.  It's not her's either."
It took a couple moments but J remembered that I had mentioned wanting to be a surrogate.  So then he was excited and thought it was great.  I still giggle thinking of that story.  I wish I could have seen the look on his face!!!

It's done.

At the consultation appointment the ultrasound revealed that there was already problems with the heart of one of the twins and signs of TTTS (twin to twin transfusion syndrome).  So I'm now pregnant with a singleton.  I won't go into any details other than to say it was much harder on me physically than expected (by me and even the doctor).  I've been on modified bed rest for 2 days and tomorrow I'll go back to work.  I still have to take it very easy for a while.  There is, of course, a level of risk to the singleton from the procedure so we're going to be kind of holding our breath until our follow up appointment on July 6th.  It's our hope that at that time we can take a deep breath and move forward with the pregnancy we were all hoping for.  Then my updates can be a lot more cheerful!
Please continue to keep my IP's and their baby in your thoughts.

An update

Okay, I think I'll keep this quick and to the point.  After 2 more ultrasounds the IP's and the doctor made the decision to proceed with the selective reduction procedure.  The twins will be reduced and I will carry the singleton.  I know this is a touchy subject and people had their own opinions on what should have happened.  However this was a decision made by the parents and their doctor and it was done with much consideration and heartache and I stand by them completely.

I'll be seeing a high risk pregnancy doctor shortly for a consult and the procedure will be done soon after.  Please keep all of us in your thoughts.
