Wow! What a crazy week. I've heard so many stories about how things slow to a crawl during the contract phase and I was preparing for a whole lot of waiting around. But that's not what happened!
Friday afternoon I had a really nice lunch with my IM (Intended Mother). We got to chat and get to know each other better. I really like her more and more all the time.
Monday afternoon I got the first draft of the contract from my lawyer. By Wednesday she and I had reviewed it and sent back our revisions. Today I received the final draft, signed it, and sent it off! The IVF coordinator has placed an order for my medications and they'll be delivered tomorrow. I start my first injections Sunday night. Tentative embryo transfer date is the week of April 18!
I'll be sure to snap some good pictures this weekend to show you all the meds I get and maybe even an action shot of my first injection!
I can't believe it's all happening so quickly! I have zero experience with surrogacy - I don't know anyone who has done it. But just from what I feel I've seen on TV, I imagined it would be a very long process. It sure seems to be the opposite here, though. So awesome!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Laura, I thought this would be a long process, and here you are skating through it! How exciting!
